Will SIMS stop working on/after the service discontinuation date?

No!  You can continue using the desktop applications (SIMS and SIMS-TRC) indefinitely on any computer that satisfies the system requirements. However, there are a few features that rely on online services (e.g., online document storage) that will no longer function after the online services discontinuation date.

Can I extend my subscription to the service discontinuation date?

Customers with a subscription due to expire prior to the service discontinuation date will have the option of renewing their subscription for a partial year that ends on the product's service discontinuation date. Subscription extensions must be requested by 6/27/2020. As part of our agreement with CSMi/SportsWare, we are unable to process subscription extension requests after 6/27/2020.

I want to keep using SIMS after my maintenance plan ends. What do I need to do?

SIMS will continue to work normally after your maintenance plan ends. However, you should save a copy of the following in a safe place in case you need to reinstall or install to a new computer in the future:

  • The SIMS installer. You can get the installer for the latest version of SIMS (9.1.2) here.
  • The latest patch for your version of SIMS. The latest patch for SIMS v9.1.2 can be downloaded here.
  • The password for the SIMS installer. Contact support@flantech.net for the password, if needed.
  • Your SIMS initialization file. Contact support@flantech.net for your initialization file, if needed.
  • SIMS User Manual and related documentation. The user manual, and installation and networking instructions can be found in the Documentation section of the SIMS product page. Other SIMS related documentation and articles can be found on the SIMS solutions page.

Additionally, we strongly recommend that you institute a backup plan for your database. If something goes wrong with your database, you may need to restore an older version of the database to get it working again. We recommend a daily backup to mitigate the loss of data should you need to restore an older version. You can backup and restore your database using the File / Backup/Restore menu options in SIMS.

  • SIMS-TRC User Manual and related documentation. Installation and configuration instructions can be found in the Documentation section of the SIMS-TRC product page. Other SIMS-TRC related documentation and articles can be found on the SIMS-TRC solutions page.
